After the passage of Category 5 Hurricane Otis, on October 25, the city of Acapulco (MX) home to more than 1 million people was devastated. Thousands remain without drinking water, food, electricity and fuel and some 274,000 homes have been damaged or destroyed.
Your contribution here, giving hope to families affected by Hurricane Otis, will be channeled through the two NGOs below.
Cruz Roja Mexicana (the Mexican Red Cross) - just 2 weeks after the hurricane, they have distributed 1,820 tons of humanitarian aid in Guerrero and assisted a total of 4,877 people.
World Central Kitchen (WCK) - working with local partners establishing multiple meal distribution sites; WCK distributes around 30,000 meals per day (and expects to reach 100,000 meals per day) to support families in Acapulco who lack food, access to food or the possibility of cooking for themselves.
